The Endowment Fund Sarawak (EFS) is a RM1,000 savings initiative introduced in 2019 for all Sarawakian children, regardless of race, religion or socio-economic background.
The EFS aims to assist Sarawakian children in preparing for their future — whether to further their studies, start a career, or use it as seed capital for a small business.

- An active and verified SarawakPass (formerly known as SarawakID) account.
- For normal case:
- Copy of the identification card of the mother or father
- Copy of baby birth certificate
- Copy of relevant supporting documents (if any)
- For underaged case:
- Copy of the identification card of the next-of-kin with 'K' status appointed by the mother or father for the child
- Copy of baby birth certificate
- Copy of completed declaration form certified by a Commissioner for Oaths. (Download here)
- Copy of relevant supporting documents (if any)
- For child born overseas
Due to current system limitations, online applications require a MyKid number, which is typically not yet available for children born overseas. Applicants are required to complete the EFS Manual Application Form and submit the form via email to efs@sarawak.gov.my.
Required documents:
- Copy of the MyKad of the mother or father bearing ‘K’ (Sarawak) status
- Copy of the baby’s birth certificate
- Certified true copies of documents, which may be obtained from the Malaysian Embassy or High Commission abroad
- Copy of relevant supporting documents (if any)
Online application through the Sarawak Government portal (www.sarawak.gov.my) by parents who are Malaysian citizens with Sarawakian ‘K’ status.
1. Either one or both parents are Malaysians with Sarawakian ‘K’ status
2. Baby is born in or outside Sarawak
3. Application must be made within one (1) year after birth

For category of adopted child:
1. Either one or both adoptive parents are Malaysians with Sarawakian ‘K’ status

4. A valid Certificate of Adoption must be obtained
