Apply for Certificate of Approval for Gas Fittings, Gas Appliances and Gas Equipment

In order to assemble, manufacture, import, sell or use the gas fitting, gas appliance or gas equipment, the applicant must ensure it has been tested and certified and approved by the Government or its agent or a person accredited by the Government.
The application is required to submit the supporting documents below:
  1. Copy of company registration certificate or registration issued by SSM.
  2. Original Certificate of Approval (COA) to manufacturer/assembler or importer.
  3. Schematic drawings or photos of the gas fitting, gas appliance or gas equipment.
  4. Technical specifications (copy of catalogues) of the gas fitting, gas appliance or gas equipment.
  5. Operating manual / user manual of the gas fitting, gas appliance or gas equipment.
  6. A copy of a valid test report produced by:
  • SIRIM Berhad; or
  • Laboratories which are members of the International Laboratory Accreditation Corporation (ILAC); or
  • A testing body recognized by the Ministry; or
  • A third-party testing body accredited by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).
  1. Code / Standard (English version) related in manufacturing and testing of equipment (other than Malaysian Standard, ISO, ASME, EN and UL.
  2. Any other documents as may be requested by the Ministry from time to time, including during the process of the application.
This service can be apply at the Gas Distribution Division, Ministry of Utilities Sarawak.
Anyone can apply.
The certificate fee is free of charge as for now until further notice.
