Consultant Firm to register as EIA Consultant with NREB.

Only EIA Consultant registered with the NREB is eligible to conduct Environment impact Assessment (EIA) Study and prepare report for submission to NREB as stipulated under Section 11A (1) of the Natural Resources and Environment Ordinance (Cap. 84 - Laws of Sarawak, Ed. 1958) and Article 3(1) of the Natural Resources and Environment (Prescribed Activities) Order, 1994.

1. Copy of Business Registration (Business Names Ordinance (Chap. 64))/ Company Registration Certificate (Companies Act, 2016 (Section 17) (Act 777)).  Firms that are not registered in Sarawak must have office address in Sarawak.
2. For a firm to be registered as EIA Consultant, it must have at least one (1) permanent specialist who minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) work.
3. Form I of the The Businesses, Professions and Trading Licensing Ordinance (Section 5,23 & 24(20)) (if applicable).
4. Copy of Form 49 of Companies Act, 2016 (Section 17) (Act 777) (if applicable).

1. The consultant firm ought to be registered under Business Name Registration Ordinance or the Companies Act 2016 (Section 17) (Act 777).  Firms which are not registered in Sarawak must have addresses in Sarawak.
2. For a firm to be registered, it must have at least one (1) permanent specialist who has minimum of three (3) years relevant experiences in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) work

1. Applications that aren't complete and don't meet the criteria will be rejected.
2. The registration as EIA Consultant Firm is valid for one year. The application for the renewal must be submitted at least one month before the expiring date.
3. A penalty of 20% will be charged for those renewal applications made within three (3) month (3) after its expiry date.
4. The firm registration will be de-registered if fail to comply with the following:(3) months of its expiry dates;

• The registration is not renewed after three
• The conditions of Conditional Renewal.

5. For the firm that has been de-registered and wishes to be registered with the NREB, a penalty of Five Hundred Ringgit Malaysia (RM500.00) will be charged.
