Application for Registration of EIA Consultant (Individual Member Registration)

Individual Consultant to register as EIA Consultant with the NREB.

Only registered Permanent Specialist and Individual EIA Consultant registered with the NREB is eligible to conduct Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Study and prepare report for submission to NREB as stipulated under Section 11A (1) of the Natural Resources and Environment Ordinance (Cap. 84 - Laws of Sarawak, Ed. 1958) and Article 3(1) of the Natural Resources and Environment (Prescribed Activities) Order, 1994.

  1. Latest passport size photo.
     
  2. Copy of NRIC or Passport for Non-citizen.
     
  3. Individual Portfolio/Curricular Vitae (The CV should not just present a full history of academic credentials but also on the relevant working experience in professional field).
     
  4. Copy of tertiary education certificates (Degree, Master Degree or Ph.D).
     
  5. Copy of membership certificates of professional bodies.
     
  6. Copy of relevant courses, seminars, etc.
     
  7. Copy of work Permit for non- citizen.
     
  8. Work Assignment Letter (Offer of contract/employment letter to confirm the applicants undertaking studies/projects).
     
  9. Others:
Federal Civil Servants must get authorised written consent from their Head of Department in    accordance with Peraturan 5, Peraturan-Peraturan Pegawai Awam (Kelakuan dan Tatatertib) 1993 [P.U. (A) 395/1993].

Sarawak State Civil Servants must get authorised written consent from the State Secretary in accordance with General Order 154 of The State Public Service General Orders, 1996.
 
For an officer of a statutory body, she/he must get authorised written permission from the General Manager (Head of Department) in accordance with Section 4 of the Statutory Bodies (Conduct And Discipline) Ordinance, 2004.
This service can be obtained via online.
  1. Applications that aren't complete and don't meet the criteria will be rejected.
  2. The registration as EIA Consultant is valid for one year. The application for the renewal must be submitted at least one month before the expiring date.
  3. A penalty of 20% will be charged for those renewal application made within three month after its expiry date.
  4. The individual consultant will be de-registered if they fail to comply with the following:
  • Did not involve in at least one environmental study in the following year upon he/she received his/her conditional renewal approval.
  • The registration is not renewed after three (3) months of its expiry dates.
  1. For the Individual Consultant who has been de-registered and wishes to be registered with the NREB, a penalty of Five Hundred Ringgit Malaysia (RM500.00) will be charged.
  1. Should have at least a university degree or its equivalent accredited by the Malaysian Government.
  2. Should have minimum three (3) years working experience in environmental-related study/project or professional field.
  3. Preferably a registered member of professional bodies
  4. Non-Malaysian with a valid working permit issued by Malaysian Government.
The fee for registration of new EIA Consultant is RM 250.00. The method of payment is:
  1. Online transfer or
  2. Offline Payment (Cash, Cheque, ATM Transfer)
