Application to be Recognized as Sarawak Natives

This service is for the application to be recognized as a native of Sarawak. Applicant under the age of 18 (minor) during application must apply through one of his/her parents/guardians.
The recognization of Sarawak native is governed by Schedule to Section 3 of the Interpretation (Amendment) Ordinance, 2022 and the approving authority is by the State Secretary through Sarawak Native Recognition Committee (NRC).
The conditions for a person to be recognized as a native of Sarawak are as follows:
- A Malaysian citizen;
- A natural born child of a race indigenous to Sarawak; and
- One of his/her nature parents is a person of a race indigenous to Sarawak.

If the application is made by one of his parents/guardians for a minor, the application must be acknowledged on behalf of the minor by the parent/guardian
Applicant MUST provide Certified True Copies of the following supporting documents :
1. Applicant:
- Copy of NRIC/Mykid
- Copy of Birth Certificate with races mentioned
- Passport Size Photo (not selfie)
2 Natural father:
- Copy of NRIC/ Passport
- Copy of Birth Certificate with races mentioned
- Copy Extract of Death Certificate (if deceased)
3. Natural mother:
- Copy of NRIC/ Passport
- Copy of Birth Certificate with races mentioned
- Copy Extract of Death Certificate (if deceased)
Submit the application online through Sarawak Government Portal (www.sarawak.gov.my).
